Young Adults

#NoPlasticsForLent

The #NoPlasticsForLent initiative, led by young adults across the church, calls us to prayer for creation, to lament the ways we have been complicit in the degradation of the earth, and to action to care for our neighbor in fasting from the things that are hurting our planet.

Join Taina Diaz-Reyes, a member of our community and PhD student in sustainability at ASU, as she leads a discussion on this topic. Taina also serves as an advisor to the ELCA on issues of sustainability and recycling.

S’mores Fun!

Our Young Adult Group and Lutheran Campus Ministry students enjoyed making and eating s’mores. Our Young Adult Group also had a White Elephant Gift Exchange and will be doing Habitat for Humanity on December 18th.

Young Adults at ULC

Hi everyone! We have been busy in our Young Adult Group! Young Adult Group is for anyone age 22-39ish that is looking for some community, faith-building, fun, and service.

In October we had a Reformation celebration party where we wrote down what we would reform in the church, ate delicious potluck goods and raised $58 for Lutheran World Relief.

So far in November we hiked the First Water Trail in the Superstition Mountains with our other Young Adult friends, the Young Catholic singles, woo woo! 😉

We are also packing food for Refugees at Lutheran Social Services on Thursday, the 16th of November.

On December 3rd we will be packing food for Feed My Starving Children’s “Hope Filled Holiday” packing event from 3-5pm at the Phoenix Convention Center.
