Preserve Dignity for Asylum Seekers

June 1, 2019

Lutheran Social ServicesFrom a recent email from Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest:

In 2018, the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol processed more than 107,000 migrant families seeking asylum and protection. With ICE lacking the capacity for growing asylee numbers, families have been released to churches in Phoenix for temporary and transitional shelter until they are capable of traveling to their final destination. Currently, there are not enough churches to accommodate the increasing numbers of asylum-seekers, and these families are being released on the street and at bus stations, with no means to continue their journey.

Garden

What for more photos of the Community Garden “spouting up” in the coming weeks.  Donations of dirt and tilling of the area by the local constructions crew is most gracious.  Lori Zurcher has been working hard and is most thankful for these donations.  There will be more pictures plus information about how you can help bringi items for the compost.  Feel like getting your hands dirty?  Please see Lori Zurcher how you might be able to help.

Working Hard

Working hard on work day.  Take a peek at the new planting on the north east corner of the Campus Center.  Thanks to everyone who worked so hard.

Water Stains

What water stains?  The roof is now fix, the water stains on the interior have been fixed.  What an amazing transformation!  Thanks to David Anderson and Terry Anderson [no relation].
