Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week

This week is National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, when people unite across the country to serve, volunteer, and donate in a concerted effort to address hunger and homelessness.

Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest is providing Thanksgiving meals to those in need. If you would like to donate to help those less fortunate celebrate Thanksgiving, please visit here.

Write to your legislators. In honor of Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, ask them to legislate effective solutions for assisting the homeless and the hungry. Find your District using this link. Find your Representatives and Senators using this link.

Join Us for Forums Before Sunday Worship

Join us on Sunday mornings at 9:15-10:15 for lively conversation at our Forums. We meet in the Campus Center Library.

In November, we are continuing our Bible series on the Beatitudes (Matthew 5:3-12). For this Bible Study, we are using the book How’s Your Attitude: A Study of the Beatitudes by Juanita Purcell. Join us for one lesson, a few lessons, or the whole series. We have copies of the book for everyone. You are welcome to read the lesson before the Forum, but you don’t need to.

· Nov 10th—Blessed Are the Peacemakers (Lesson 8)

· Nov 17th—Blessed Are Those Who Are Persecuted for Righteousness’ Sake (Lesson 9)

· Nov 24th—Blessed Are Those Who Are Persecuted for Christ’s Sake (Lesson 10)

· Dec 1st—Discuss what we learned from the Beatitudes.

Anti-Hunger Taskforce Pie & Coffee Event – Nov 27th

The ULC Anti-Hunger Taskforce invites you to stay for pie and coffee after service on Thanksgiving Eve (Wednesday, November 27th). We will gather in the Campus Center. Please invite your family, friends, and out-of-town visitors! RSVP by contacting the church office at info@ulctempe.org or 480-967-3543 so that we know how many pies to bring.
