Young Adult Retreat in New Orleans

Some of our University Lutheran Church (ULC) Young Adults are planning to attend the upcoming ELCA Young Adult Gathering in New Orleans from July 16-20. The theme for the Gathering is “Created to Be” entered on Psalm 139:14 (I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.)

Due to the expense, Bryan Gamelin (ULC Young Adult Coordinator), Paul Westermann (LCM and ASU graduate student), and other ULC Young Adults worked together to compile a fundraising letter in attempt to raise funds to help cover some of the costs.

Bryan was happy to get approximately 300 letters in the mail! We are hopeful the ULC Young Adults receive a good response!

If you would like to make a donation for the young adults who will be attending, you may do so on our website. Please scroll to: LCM Individual Gifts and in the “Note” section—put Young Adult Gathering. Any donation is greatly appreciated.

Feb. 18 Forum – Bible Study in Time of Transition: Acts 13-28

On Sunday, February 18 at 9:15 am, we will wrap up our study of Acts., by focusing on Acts 13-28. This is the last in a series of three Bible studies that University Lutheran Church member Scott Boyden is leading about the book of Acts and how it is relevant to our church as we go through a transition and call for a new pastor. Come join us for a lively and engaging discussion.

The forum will be held in the Campus Center Library and via Zoom.

Ashes to Go at ASU

Interim Pastor Arhiana Shek Dill along with Lutheran Campus Ministry (LCM) students, Autumn Byars and Christine Rajarigam, participated in ASU’s Ashes To Go event on Ash Wednesday (2/14/2024) at the ASU main campus. ASU also held this event at their other campuses as well.

“Ashes to Go” is about bringing spirit, belief, and belonging out from behind church doors, and into the places where we go every day. It’s a simple event with deep meaning, drawing on centuries of tradition and worship to provide a contemporary moment of grace.

University Lutheran Church (ULC) member and the Bishop’s Associate for Candidacy and Faith Formation, Jacqui Pagel, was on campus and got ashes to go!
