More than 240 Lutheran campus ministriesOpens in New Window provide an ELCA presence at state and private colleges and universities across the country. They minister to everyone in their academic settings—not just students and not just Lutherans—as they seek to engage people in what it means to be a community that reflects the life of Christ.
This mission is lived out in various ways from ministry to ministry and is shaped by many factors, including regional demographics, leadership and even the ministry’s physical context. A ministry that operates out of its own campus center or a shared space with ecumenical partners functions differently from those that are parish-based or that work out of houses on campus.
Council of Religious Advisers
November 6 we hosted almost 50 of ASU’s Council of Religious Advisers.. pastors, rabbis, priests, imams, and lay leaders of various campus ministries. We provided lunch and had 3 speakers from ASU departments participate in a panel discussion.
Arizona Tax Credit
We have two ministry partners that qualify for the 2019 Arizona tax credit: the Navajo School in Rock Point, AZ and Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest. Please check with your tax consultant or Arizona tax law to see the amount for which you qualify.
Grace Lutheran Church – Blankets in Short Supply
We desperately need your help, friends. Now that the temperatures have dropped, the Grace Room is in need of BLANKETS, men’s jeans, socks and shoes. Check your closets, check your drawers, ask your friends with connections… Help us prepare for winter! Full list of needs.
On Monday mornings at 9:00 am, the Grace Room opens for members of our community in need of clothing and hygiene supplies. If you have items to donate, you may drop them off Monday thru Friday from 9 to 5.
