FONDUE or FONDON’T
Students begin gathering to prepare and cook dinner for Dinner Church. The menu was fondue style. Worship was around tables with scripture, sermon and Holy Communion as well as conversation and discussion.
Holiday Shopping at University Lutheran
We will have our annual shopping opportunities to University Lutheran Church and Campus Ministry. We have our Fair Trade Fair from SERRV as well as Good Gifts from ELCA available at the back of the sanctuary.
This is NOT a fundraiser. In the SERRV Fair Trade Fair, many countries are represented and the money goes directly back to the artisans and their families. The money goes to help develop schools, jobs, and health programs in the various impoverished communities. By purchasing an ornament from Good Gifts, the money goes directly to people working to be self-sufficient, healthy, and educated. Come see the wide varieties of opportunities for meaningful gift giving.
We have a new feature this year—a red treasure box. Here’s how it works:
- Purchase a Fair-Trade item that you are sure someone would love to have or love to give.
- Place the purchased item in the red treasure box near the market display.
- Others who may not have been able to afford to purchase the gift may take it for their enjoyment or to give as a gift to someone else.
- Those who get a gift from the red treasure box have the option of donating any amount of their choosing.
- Financial gifts to the red treasure box will be given to a cause selected by the LCM Students.
Consider supporting others with your Christmas purchases this year. There are plenty of opportunities to obtain unique gifts for those on your list.
If you have any questions, please see April Boyden, Kim Savage, or Beth Wootten. Thank you!
Prayer Shawls for Maine
We have sent prayer shawls to two churches in Maine. They were very grateful that we reached out to them.
We are needing more shawls and supplies. If you would like to donate supplies, you can drop them off to the office (office hours: Tues-Fri from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm). If you would like to knit some shawls, we are in need of more.
Thank you to all the knitters who have made these shawls and to all who have donated supplies. Your time, talent, and treasure is appreciated.
Thank you to University Lutheran Church (ULC) member, Lynn Becker for coordinating this effort!
