But Ruth said, “Do not press me to leave you or to turn back from following you! Where you go, I will go; where you lodge I will lodge; your people shall be my people, and your God my God (Ruth 1:16).”
Ruth left all she knew and went with her mother-in-law to a foreign land to discover a new future. God goes with them and sustains them through the changes in the new land. The world experiences constant change and transition. Moving to a new city, for example, can be filled with joy and uncertainty. Joy to discover new places and see things for the first time and uncertainty about how things work. The changes that can come with transition can be both exciting and difficult.
During this time of transition at University Lutheran and Lutheran Campus Ministry, time is our friend. This time is important to pray, study the scriptures, grow in relationship with each other and with our neighbors. We continue to be centered in Christ in worship. Our church forums offer opportunities to get to learn and grow together as the body of Christ in this place. As part of the transition process, our transition team will be installed on Sunday February 25. I hope you will join us to pray for these leaders. Please keep them in your prayers as we begin this important work together. We look to come to terms with our history, see God at work today and discover who God is calling us to be in the future.
If you have any thoughts or questions, please reach out to me. I would enjoy having a conversation with you.
In Christ’s service,
Pastor Arhiana

Some of our University Lutheran Church (ULC) Young Adults are planning to attend the upcoming ELCA Young Adult Gathering in New Orleans from July 16-20. The theme for the Gathering is “Created to Be” entered on Psalm 139:14 (I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.)
Due to the expense, Bryan Gamelin (ULC Young Adult Coordinator), Paul Westermann (LCM and ASU graduate student), and other ULC Young Adults worked together to compile a fundraising letter in attempt to raise funds to help cover some of the costs.
Bryan was happy to get approximately 300 letters in the mail! We are hopeful the ULC Young Adults receive a good response! If you would like to make a donation for the young adults who will be attending, you may do so on our website. Please scroll to: LCM Individual Gifts and in the “Note” section—put Young Adult Gathering. Any donation is greatly appreciated.
If you are interested in attending or helping with fundraising, please contact Bryan Gamelin (ULC Young Adult Coordinator) at ulcyoungadult@gmail.com
There will be a later gathering of the choir at 9:45 am on March 10th and 17th to rehearse the service music of the day.
If you are interested in joining the choir, please contact our music director, Elizabeth Tomboulian, at ulc.choir@gmail.com Thank you!
